How we handle your data

VidyaAI takes three things from you: your name, your mobile number, and your answers. We don't sell any of it, we don't run ads, and we don't share it with anyone outside the services listed below that are needed to run the site.

What we collect, and why

Your name	To show on the leaderboard and greet you when you sign in.
Your mobile number	It's how you log in. We don't call or SMS you for marketing.
Your password	Stored only as a one-way hash. Nobody, including us, can read it back.
Which exam you're preparing for	To show you NEET or JEE subjects.
Your test answers and scores	To mark your paper, rank you, and work out your weak topics.
Basic technical logs	IP address and browser type, kept briefly to keep the service running and block abuse.

That's the whole list. We don't ask for your email, your address, your school, your parents' details, or your marks from anywhere else.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. Not to coaching institutes, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
We don't run ads. No trackers, no advertising pixels, no third-party analytics scripts following you around.
We don't share your number. Other students see your name and score on the leaderboard, never your mobile number.

Where your data actually sits

VidyaAI runs on a small number of standard hosting services. Your data is stored on their servers, not on ours:

Neon — the database holding your account and your answers.
Upstash — short-lived cached data to keep pages fast.
Render — runs the application itself.
Cloudflare — serves the website and filters malicious traffic.

Some of these operate servers outside India. By using VidyaAI you accept that your data may be processed abroad by these providers.

Contributions

If you choose to send a voluntary contribution over UPI, that payment happens entirely inside your own UPI app and your bank. We never see or store your card, bank or UPI credentials. If you message us a payment screenshot to claim a Backer mark, we keep only your name and number against that note.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

Tell you what data we hold about you.
Correct anything that's wrong.
Delete your account and everything attached to it.

Message the number below and we'll do it. Deletion is permanent — your streak, XP, badges, rank history and weak-topic data all go with it, and we can't bring them back.

If you're under 18

Most of our users are school students, and that's who this is built for. If you're under 18, please get a parent or guardian's permission before creating an account. A parent can message the number below at any time to see what we hold about their child or to have it deleted.

How long we keep it

Your account data stays while your account is open. Ask us to delete it and it's gone within 30 days. Technical logs are cleared within 90 days.

Security, stated honestly

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted over HTTPS, and access to the database is restricted. That said, VidyaAI is a small independent project, not a bank. Please don't reuse an important password here. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Changes to this page

If this changes materially, we'll update the date at the top and post a notice on the site.
